Information
The Handout and Grids I use to teach my PAScribe Copperplate Script differ considerably from how other people approach the script because of the ‘4Fold Symmetry’ I developed when I released my manual ‘Copperplate Script – A Yin & Yang Approach’.
The idea behind the approach I use in my ‘Copperplate Script – Handouts and Grids’ is to take a parallelogram and slowly round off the corners till you move to an elliptical shape. The gradual change, from sharp to soft, takes on the slowness of writing the lines as you move from one angle to the other at the vertices. This slowness embeds a slowing down in the practice of writing the letters.
The handouts come in a ‘Monoline’ set and a ‘Nib & Ink’ set. Allowing you to systematically build an understand and acceptance of new letterforms with a pencil and then with a nib & ink. This progression from simple to complex tools, I find, helps students learn more quickly with lasting results.
You can post your practice in the PAScribe Community on Circle and work along with others who are practicing with these worksheets.
If you feel you want to take your understand a step further, why not consider purchasing the ‘Copperplate Script 2day Workshop’ with over 11hours of recorded content where you can work along with the worksheets. See the link below for the workshop on the PAScribe Scriptorium.
Which Opacity to Print and Why
For information on choosing which opacity to print at please see the below link which will take you to a VIDEO discussing which opacity works best and why. The lesson lives in the ‘Free Essentials’ on the PAScribe Scriptorium. It is called ‘Which Opacity to Print and Why’.
