Why ‘Monoline’? I firmly believe, if you are going to struggle enough with learning a new script, why not make it easier for yourself – get you to learn with a tool you are already comfortable with, a pencil.

In this set of ‘Worksheets & Grids’, I use a Uniball Broad to ensure I only have a monoline, but you can just as easily use a pencil. The idea being you can start with a simple pencil without the need to spend money on fancy tools. A simple pencil will do.

I introduce you to ‘Angular Confinement’ which is the first facet of my ‘4 fold Symmetry’. This helps you to see the letterforms in a parallelogram ensuring you are never guessing as to where the curve is in relations to the bounding boxes. Later you discard the boxes writing with an embedded understanding of how to confine the letters to the right height and widths.

The worksheets have 100% images so you can see what the exemplar is, as well as letters at 40% so you can trace them and then blank lines for you try to write them on their own.

You also have a set of blank grids so you can practice your writing on your own once you feel confident enough to tackle the script from memory.
