Information
I am always seeking to update what I teach as I am continuously looking for ways to make the learning and retention of the writing of the letters simpler and easier. This is way caused me to look harder at the issues my left handed students were grappling with.
The letters you will find here, in this workbook, are not contemporary letters, they are directly taken from the English Roundhand period and are the precursor to Copperplate Script. I looked at my left handed students as they wrote copperplate script then listened to them about the issues they were having when writing and from there worked out the best movement for them.
Once I pinned down the movements, I was able to derive the letters out my extensive research into the history of the script. I wanted historical letters not something I made up. This needed a link to the history of the letters not a contemporary approach.
It is these letters, with various ducti, which you will experience in this workbook.
Once you get started, feel free to post your practice in the PAScribe Community on Circle and work along with others who are practicing with these worksheets.
