Information
The ‘Nib & Ink’ worksheets require you to work with a pointed flexible metal nib and ink. It assumes you have covered the monoline and know where the centreline of the letters sit, and now all you need do is add flesh to the letters.
In this set of ‘Worksheets & Grids’, I use a few different types of nibs, inks and papers all of which are laid out based on skill level. The aim is to get you to start with more rigid nibs and move up to the more supple metals for a finer, more delicate script.
We continue working with my ‘Angular Confinement’ system which now allows you to work in, on or over the lines of the parallelograms. Where, once again, you will not be left guessing as to where the curve is in relations to the bounding boxes. Once you discard the boxes and start on the basic grid, between the confinement and the nib & ink, you will find you are more easily able to write an elegant copperplate scrip.
The worksheets have 100% images so you can see what the exemplar is. You will need to use them beneath a sheet of layout or marker paper so you can trace then try them on your own.
You also have a set of blank grids so you can practice your writing on your own once you feel confident enough to tackle the script from memory.
You can post your practice in the PAScribe Community on Circle and work along with others who are practicing with these worksheets.
If you feel you want to take your understand a step further, why not consider purchasing the ‘Copperplate Script 2day Workshop’ with over 11hours of recorded content where you can work along with the worksheets. See the link below for the workshop on the PAScribe Scriptorium.
