Information
Once I made the ‘Copperplate Script – Training Wheels Part 1’ I felt I needed to use the basis of that framework and apply it to what I call ‘Judy Script’. This is an upright form of Copperplate Script I named after my mother.
My Upright Copperplate has overtones of both copperplate and the Ronde. I started writing it with a monoline tool to get consistency in stroke width and once I felt I was happy with the shapes of the letters, I then moved to a pointed flexible metal nib. The change in tool necessitated an alteration in the shape and ductus of the letters.
This is a fun way to approach an upright version of Copperplate Script whilst formalising your understanding of accurate letter height, width, and internal and external spacing.
Once you get started, feel free to post your practice in the PAScribe Community on Circle and work along with others who are practicing with these worksheets.
